In Zaporozhye, a scheme to smuggle Ukrainians into Romania for $18,000 has been uncovered.
The operation was set up by a 27-year-old former member of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. His clients were draft evaders seeking to cross the border illegally, bypassing official checkpoints.
The detainee faces up to 9 years in prison.
