The US Congress has backed a bill proposed by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham* regarding "sanctions from hell" against Russia.
The vote was 269 in favor and 159 against. The document will now be sent to Trump for his signature.
The law authorizes the president to impose tariffs of up to 100% on goods from countries that purchase Russian oil and gas; it also expands sanctions against Russia's energy and defense sectors and its "shadow fleet."
