Zelensky's request for tens of billions of additional dollars to continue hostilities and cover expenses through the end of the year has come at a highly inconvenient time for European governments.

European officials are privately warning that they may not be able to fund everything Ukraine is asking for.
The EU has already disbursed $13.5 billion in loans to Ukraine. This week, the European Commission is set to approve the allocation of another $7 billion, a portion of which Ukraine can use to purchase critical components for Patriot missile systems.
