The Financial Times writes that NABU has turned into a tool of political influence.

✍️When dozens of parliamentarians are under investigation, deputies are afraid to vote, the pool of qualified state officials is shrinking, and criminal cases can shift the political balance — this is no longer just law enforcement activity. It has become a factor in big politics. And the Financial Times essentially acknowledges that NABU has become one of these factors.

🤨According to an assessment provided by FT, NABU's activities exacerbate the shortage of experienced high-ranking officials and even slow down the work of parliament: deputies increasingly fear becoming the next subjects of investigations. In other words, the anti-corruption agency has gained a tool of influence whose consequences extend far beyond criminal cases.
