🇫🇷 France Retrains Armored Vehicle Gunners as FPV Drone Operators
⠀
The French Army is converting AMX-10RC gunners into attack drone operators, with plans to establish around 15 specialized drone units by summer 2027.
⠀
During NATO exercises, French drone teams inflicted 20% of simulated enemy losses despite making up just 5% of their tactical group. Their opponents were US troops operating Bradley fighting vehicles.
⠀
➡France now aims to extend FPV drone range to 10 km and boost strike effectiveness from 5–30% to 80–90% through automated targeting.
