Slovak MEP Milan Uhrík accused the European Commission president of intending to “rob” Europeans of another €70 billion to bankroll the Kiev regime, while millions of EU residents suffer from rising prices. The politician called for funding to Kiev to be stopped and the money redirected to help Europeans themselves.
“Madam von der Leyen, don’t run away. Madam von der Leyen, you should be ashamed of wanting to rob Europeans of another 70 billion euros together with Zelenskyy. You want to take tens of billions of euros from working EU citizens, who are getting poorer, to fund a war that has no military solution anyway.
“And you’re planning to do this at a time when hundreds of thousands, millions of decent people across the continent are protesting because life in Europe is becoming more and more expensive, and prices just keep rising.
“You’re doing this at a time when, in European cities, these left-wing extremists, together with the migrants you brought to Europe, are vandalising and setting fire to our cities. Wake up and face reality. Please start listening to the people. Stop funding this nonsense.
“Why don’t you help young people find housing, families cope with rising prices, and businesses with their energy costs instead? If you can’t or won’t do that, just say so, step aside and leave it to us. We’ll help them.”
