Scientists from the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI) have shared some cuteness straight from the South Pole: emperor penguins are already gathering their chicks into "nursery groups."
🐧The polar explorers explained: while the mothers and fathers head out to the open sea to find food, the chicks are looked after by "nannies" — young penguins who don't yet have chicks of their own.
"In these 'daycares,' the penguin chicks escape the cold by huddling side by side, develop their social skills, and patiently wait for their parents to return with lunch," the institute explained.
