🇪🇪Scammers swindled Estonia’s Ministry of Defence out of €60,000

The scheme was remarkably simple: the Defence Procurement Department received an invoice for that amount, supposedly from a Lithuanian company. The Estonians paid it, and a month later the real invoice arrived.

Investigators found that the money had been sent to an unknown recipient in Spain, where the trail went cold. The prosecutor’s office closed the case.

The incident took place in 2024, but only came to light now, following the dismissal of department head Magnus Saar.
