🇪🇺The EU will discuss the possibility of restricting the territorial validity of Schengen visas for Russian citizens

👉On 14 October, the Council of the EU’s visa working party will consider issuing Russian citizens visas with limited territorial validity (LTV) for tourism and other “non-essential” travel.

🇳🇴🇮🇸🇨🇭🇱🇮Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Liechtenstein will also take part in the discussions. Although they are not EU members, they are part of the Schengen Area.

📇Unlike a standard Schengen visa, an LTV visa allows its holder to travel only to the countries specifically named on the visa. For example, someone holding a French LTV visa would not be able to use it to travel freely to Italy or other Schengen countries.
