On October 15, Tesla plans to unveil the second-generation Roadster, first announced in November 2017. The car is meant to leave the ground, literally. Musk promised an option package with small additional cold-gas thrusters: jets pointed downward lift the car off the ground.

🧐 What investors are waiting for
Tesla stock is trading around $382, 23% below its all-time high. Morningstar analysts see the Roadster more as a showcase for the brand and its technology than as a key driver of the company’s valuation. It’s still unclear when the Roadster will go into production: Tesla first promised 2020 and now points to 2027–2028.
