Firefox 157, set for release on September 29, will make the Nova project’s new user interface the default. The update gives Firefox a cleaner look and reorganizes key controls for easier access. Rounded tabs and address bar fields, a highlighted space for the tab bar and sidebar, and a more polished icon set are among the most visible changes.
It also adds dedicated buttons for private browsing and the built-in VPN, while making tab grouping, vertical tabs, and side-by-side tab viewing simpler to use. Compact mode returns as well, letting the interface take up less screen space. The design refresh continues with updated colors, including purple and warmer shades, plus a glow effect around the active tab.
