🔵 Windows 11 build 26340.9596 is rolling out to Insiders in the Experimental channel. The update adds support for Unicode 17.0, helping Windows display and generate new characters and scripts, including Beria Erfe, Sidetic, Tai Yo, and Tolong Siki. In addition, Cloud Rebuild has a new entry point under Settings > System > Restore. Microsoft is also investigating a Windows Update issue affecting some Insiders who see error 0x80073712 when installing new builds. The update brings small fixes and tweaks across the system, including the ability to pin favorite apps in the Share window, version numbers for packaged apps in Settings, and improved File Explorer preview behavior for internet-downloaded files. It also adds a “Preview Anyway” option for HTML files and now previews other file types like PDFs automatically. Several bugs were fixed, including issues with the File Explorer preview pane, Family Safety notifications, taskbar visuals, USB audio devices, Remote Desktop window sizing, VMware blank windows, and general system lag. Microsoft says it is still investigating performance degradation during long sessions and GSOD crashes on devices with VMware installed.

🔵 Microsoft’s Windows 11 build 28020.3142 is now available to Beta channel Insiders, bringing a small set of fixes and usability improvements. Magnifier now lets users type an exact zoom percentage in the toolbar and choose from preset levels such as 5%, 10%, 25%, 50%, 100%, 150%, 200%, and 400%. Microsoft also introduced Cloud Rebuild, a new recovery feature that can reinstall Windows 11 and restore a PC to a known-good state even if it won’t boot. It downloads the Windows image and drivers from Windows Update, and can be launched from WinRE with a network connection. File Explorer also gets several improvements: folder display settings now persist across paths and apps, the address bar accepts paths with double backslashes and quotes, suggestion drop-downs close more reliably, and renaming has been fixed so text selection and case-only name changes behave correctly across local and cloud storage.
