🔧 Microsoft is testing a new privacy feature in Windows 11 that could give users finer control over camera and microphone access for classic Win32 apps. The change appears in Insider build 26340.9212 for the Experimental channel, though Microsoft did not include it in the official changelog.

Right now, Windows 11 lets users manage these permissions in detail mainly for Microsoft Store apps, while classic desktop apps share broader controls.

The new feature would let people set camera and microphone access on a per app basis for Win32 software, including popular programs such as Discord, Chrome, and Steam. The change is hidden by default in build 26340.9212 (Experimental Channel).

Windows 11 already supports similar per app permissions for other app types, but not for Win32 apps.
