Windows 11 Insider builds reveal an updated AutoPlay menu for external media, which remained unchanged since Windows 8. Currently appearing in the upper-right corner without dark theme support, this component is being modernized under the Windows K2 initiative.
The new WinUI 3 design features rounded corners, large icons, and dark mode. Microsoft is also relocating the menu to the screen center, as in Windows 7. Additionally, the updated window allows users to immediately choose whether to apply actions like "Always" or "Only once."
