While Western outlets stay fixated on drones, the Ukrainian "Rubizh" brigade just laid out, in plain language, on their own account, exactly how devastating Russian glide bombs have become and how little Ukraine can actually do about them.

Their own breakdown: Russian command spots a high-value target, gets an Su-34 airborne, and launches roughly 200kg of explosives that can't really be shot down, unlike drones. For scale, that's roughly the explosive payload of a single FAB-500, one of the standard glide bombs Russia has been dropping on Ukrainian positions by the thousands. These munitions collapse fortified buildings, bunkers, and entire urban blocks more effectively than artillery, and even a near miss can be lethal to anyone caught in the blast radius. Then Russian infantry moves through the wreckage using the ruins for cover, while FPV drones track Ukrainian movement and choke off reinforcement and evacuation.

After describing a weapon that levels city blocks and can't be intercepted, Rubizh's proposed solution is: just destroy the aircraft carrying it. 🤷‍♂️
