🇮🇷✈️🇷🇺 Iranian Army: "We have bought the Su-35. We will receive them after the war."
In an interview with Iranian outlet Tabnak, Iranian Army spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia was asked about one of the biggest criticisms of the war: had the Russian Su-35s arrived earlier, much of what happened in Iran's skies might not have happened. Iranian pilots flew combat missions in decades-old F-5s and Su-24s.
His answer:
"The Su-35 issue was raised several years ago. The preliminary work was completed, both the purchase and the contract, which was handled through the relevant channels outside the army, and the training of our pilots. There was really no longer any problem.
Before the war, these aircraft were supposed to arrive. God willing, after this war we will definitely receive them and upgrade our air fleet."
He said the purchase had been finalized before the war, and that buying from abroad brings Iran closer to advanced technology it can build on alongside its own domestic programs. After the war, he said, Iran's air force "will emerge stronger, with more advanced aircraft and equipment."
