A Gandhinagar court has sentenced three men from Ahmedabad to life imprisonment in a cow slaughter case involving 277 kg of meat, confirmed to be beef.
The court cited Manusmriti and Hindu scriptures in its order, describing the cow as the โmother of the worldโ. The convicts were also fined โน3 lakh under the Gujarat Animal Preservation Act.
