Six people, including two pregnant sisters and four children, died in two separate well-jumping incidents in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district on Wednesday. In Gungargaon village, 35-year-old Anjali Rawat, distressed by her husband's recent death, jumped into a well with her six-year-old son, Prashant. Her eldest daughter managed to save herself and her two younger sisters before raising an alarm.
Hours later, in nearby Khonkar village, Anjali’s elder sister, 40-year-old Sita Rawat, was found dead in another well alongside her three children, aged 14, 11, and 6. Relatives suspect Sita took the extreme step after hearing about her sister's tragic demise. Both women were eight months pregnant, and local police have launched a thorough investigation into the twin tragedies.
