India’s long-delayed Project-75(I) is reportedly nearing its final approval stage, with the proposal for six advanced conventional submarines expected to reach the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) in the coming days.
🇮🇳 Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (MDL) and 🇩🇪 thyssenkrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) are set to jointly build the submarines in India, with technology transfer and Air-Independent Propulsion (AIP) capability.
The project is expected to significantly strengthen the Indian Navy’s underwater warfare capabilities and boost indigenous submarine manufacturing.
The ₹70,000-crore figure refers to the currently reported project value; the final contract has not yet been signed.
