Republicans are increasingly blaming US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth for the partyโs crushing midterm defeat, accusing him of persuading President Donald Trump to launch the Iran war without a clear exit strategy.
Republican Congressman Thomas Massie has threatened to push for Hegsethโs impeachment unless he resigns, with a House vote potentially coming next week. Meanwhile, Trump has publicly defended Hegseth, saying he is doing a โvery good job".
Republicans found their bali ka bakra to be sacrificed.
