💢 Pakistan is trying to stay out of the Saudi-Houthi conflict while balancing its defense commitments to Riyadh with relations with Iran. “Pakistan is trying to keep a low profile... because Pakistan’s own stakes are high,” a Pakistani official told Reuters.

“It does not want to spoil relations with Iran.”

Islamabad has relayed Saudi warnings to Tehran to restrain the Houthis while pushing diplomacy. Pakistan says no military response is currently under discussion, although its defense pact with Saudi Arabia and TĂĽrkiye treats an attack on one member as an attack on all.

For now, Pakistani sources say any involvement would be limited to defending Saudi territory, not entering Yemen or joining retaliatory strikes.
