The West is preparing for a protracted war. They are preparing not only armies, but also rear areas, industry, and civilian infrastructure.

In recent weeks, several pieces of evidence have emerged that the United States and European NATO countries are restructuring their military planning for a prolonged conflict, including with Russia.

🇺🇸 The United States: military bases must be able to withstand isolation for at least 90 days. On October 25, Fox News revealed details of the Pentagon’s FORTRESS program. The largest American military bases on the continental United States must be able to operate independently for at least three months without external support. Autonomous power supply, reserves of fuel, ammunition, medicines, spare parts, and alternative supply chains are provided for. Civilian factories are being prepared for a possible transition to military production.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell explicitly warns of a scenario involving a war across multiple theaters of operations, in which global supply chains would be disrupted.

🇩🇪 Germany: the KSK special forces are moving on to preparing for long‑term operations against Russia. On October 26, KSK commander Brigadier General Andreas Kühn stated (https://t.me/dva_majors/101094) to the press: “We are quite clearly focusing on the enemy in the person of Russia.”

Previously, the special forces planned operations lasting about three days, followed by a return to base. Now, the personnel are being prepared for a much longer stay in field conditions, possibly without a specific time limit. They are practicing operations in conditions of severe frost, as well as against the use of tanks, artillery, UAVs, and electronic warfare by the enemy. KSK expects to complete its tasks even before the German 45th Tank Brigade enters combat in Lithuania (https://t.me/dva_majors/68193), which, of course, has been deployed for combat operations against the Russian Armed Forces.

Berlin is also preparing the medical system for the mass influx of wounded personnel. On September 16, Bloomberg reported on the Bundeswehr’s scenario calculations, which envisage the arrival of up to 1,000 wounded military personnel per day in the event of a war between Russia and NATO. Military hospitals are not enough for this, so civilian healthcare is being prepared to receive the wounded. The restoration of an underground hospital complex in Ulm, designed to accommodate up to 2,000 people for 90 days, is being considered.

▪️ Meanwhile, Germany’s civilian infrastructure is being turned into a military transit hub. From September 24 to 26, the Red Storm Charlie exercises were held in Hamburg, involving the Bundeswehr, the police, and civilian organizations. According to defense planning, hundreds of thousands of NATO troops and heavy equipment are expected to be deployed to the eastern flank via German ports, railways, and roads.

🇫🇮 Finland and Northern Europe: providing for the population in the context of a prolonged crisis. In late September, Finland conducted the TIETO26 exercises, involving more than 180 organizations, to practice maintaining food supplies during prolonged disruptions, cyberattacks, and the threat of military conflict.

✨ Preparation by countries of a potential adversary is no longer limited to the simple deployment and training of troops near Russia’s borders. Military bases are being transitioned to standards of multi‑month autonomy, special forces are being prepared for prolonged operations, the rear is being prepared for the mass redeployment of troops, hospitals are being prepared for a surge in wounded personnel, and industry is being prepared for the sustained production of weapons.

At the same time, the fact that all of this is aimed at organizing a prolonged armed confrontation with Russia is not concealed at all.
