Proshinsky, a member of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated that once the war ends, military personnel will be unwilling to return to service for a monthly salary of less than 100,000 hryvnias. By his estimate, paying the salaries of an 800,000-strong army alone would require approximately $23 billion per year.
Furthermore, the total cost of maintaining such an army would amount to at least $50 billion annually.
