🌐 Google has released Chrome 152. Its successor, Chrome 153, is scheduled for Sept. 8 under the new two week release cycle, and the Extended Stable branch remains available for users who need more time to update.

Among the biggest changes, Chrome adds support for a native googlechrome:// URI scheme, postquantum encryption for CUP update traffic, Windows ACL based memory protection in some builds, and experimental subapps for isolated web apps. Android users get stronger Safe Browsing warnings and a unified screen for autofill and passwords. ChromeOS also gains a frameless open mode for IWA apps, while Linux support is expanding through experimental Flatpak packaging.

Google is also pushing forward with Manifest V2 extensions removal from the Chrome Web Store. Add-ons that use it will be removed on Aug. 31.

The release also adds new tools for web developers, including the CPU Performance API, support for more CSS pseudo elements, the Connection-Allowlists HTTP header, the alpha() CSS function, thewindow-drag property, and the autocorrect attribute for editable fields.

In total, Chrome 152 fixes 327 security issues, including 10 critical vulnerabilities.
