⚪️ Microsoft has removed Drag Tray from recent Windows 11 Insider builds after testers reacted poorly to the feature. The company introduced the tool about a year ago as a fast way to send files to apps, but users did not appreciate its design.

Drag Tray appeared as a bar at the top of the screen when a user selected a file and started dragging it with a mouse. From there, users could drop the file onto the panel and send it to a chosen app.

Feedback from Insiders turned negative. Many called the panel intrusive and inconvenient, and they looked for ways to disable it.

Microsoft said it hopes to show a new implementation in a future build, but the current version of Drag Tray appears unlikely to return to Windows 11.
