September has a way of hurting differently.
It is the month that seems to carry too many names, too many faces, too many phone calls you wish you had never received. A month of empty chairs, unanswered calls, funerals, photographs you can no longer look at for too long.
September feels heavy.
It is grief that does not announce itself anymore. It simply sits there... quietly, stubbornly... in the chest. You go to work. You answer emails and messages. You laugh when you have to. You carry on because life does not stop just because your heart has.
But somewhere inside, you are still counting the people who should have been here.
September is a month of loss for so many of us. A month that reminds us that some wounds do not heal; we simply learn how to carry them without falling apart in public.
And perhaps that is the hardest part of grief: not that you miss them. It is that the world keeps moving as if nothing happened.
So here is to September... the month of heartache, heavy memories and names we still whisper in our hearts.
May Allah swt have mercy on all those we lost. And may He give those of us who remain the strength to carry what was left behind.
September has a way of hurting differently.
