**Joint List: Zini Has Gone Off the Rails – We Will Not Allow the Arab Public’s Democratic Choice and Vote to Be Turned into a Security Threat**
The Joint List strongly condemns the reported attempt by Shin Bet Director David Zini to launch investigations against Arab elected representatives. The Joint List views this move as part of the campaign of incitement and delegitimization led by Likud against the Arab public, its votes, and its political representation.
“Netanyahu is clinging to power and attempting to delegitimize the Arab public, which turned out in large numbers to vote against his government. Zini, who was appointed by Netanyahu, is acting as a political arm in his service.
We will not allow Netanyahu and Zini to turn the votes of hundreds of thousands of Arab citizens into a security threat or to treat their elected representatives as suspects. The Arab public does not need permission from Netanyahu or the head of the Shin Bet to influence its political future.
The Arab public has spoken at the ballot box. No threats, investigations, or campaigns of intimidation will silence us or undermine the legitimacy of our political representation. We will firmly defend our full right to influence and determine the political future, and we will work to replace Netanyahu’s government.”
