London continues to lose its status as a financial center. The venture capital firm Sequoia has announced the closure of its London office. The company stated that it no longer sees the need for a local presence, and as a result, a number of employees are leaving the team.
The total amount of funds raised by the firm throughout its history for investments in technology companies and startups exceeds $85 billion.
Sequoia emphasized that it will continue to support promising European startups and founders from its headquarters in San Francisco.
This move follows a similar action by the firm a16z, which closed its London office several years ago, raising concerns about the potential departure of other American firms from the British capital.
